SAFETY & AFTERCARE

PRE/POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

  • Pre-treatment Instructions

    • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, fish oil, and vitamin E for 3–5 days before treatment if approved by your medical provider. This reduces the chance of bruising for 3–5 days after treatment.

    • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.

    • Arrive with clean skin without makeup, sunscreen, or skincare products.

    • Pause active skincare (retinoids, exfoliating acids, benzoyl peroxide) for 24 hours before treatment.

    • If you have a history of cold sores, please let us know ahead of time.

    • Let us know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, recently vaccinated, taking antibiotics, or feeling unwell.

    • Avoid scheduling major events within 1–2 weeks in case of mild swelling or bruising.

    Post-treatment Instructions:

    • Stay upright for 4–6 hours after treatment.

    • Avoid lying flat, bending deeply at the waist, or doing strenuous exercise for the rest of the day.

    • Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours.

    • Avoid tight hats, headbands, or anything that applies pressure to your forehead or scalp for 24 hours.

    • Avoid heat exposure—including saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms, long hot showers, or tanning—for 48 hours.

    • Mild swelling, redness, or small bumps at the injection sites are normal and typically resolve within a few hours.

    • Avoid facials, facial massage, or skin treatments for 48 hours.

    • Expect full results in 10–14 days; small asymmetries can be addressed at your follow-up appointment.

    • Contact us immediately if you notice changes in vision, unusual or worsening pain, new areas of discomfort, discoloration, coolness, or changes in sensation on the face or inside the mouth—even if these areas were not treated. These symptoms require prompt evaluation.
